The minutes and sermon of the Second Presbyterian and Congregational Convention, held in the Central Presbyterian Church, Lombard Street, Philadelphia, on the 28th day of October 1858

The minutes contain items of the business meeting, including discussion of the role of education as the way to elevate tha black race and a condemnation of the recent Dred Scott decision. The opening sermon by E.P. Rogers is on the duties of ministers.
