This is the Calf of Kent, a little Holstein which was sold for the Red Cross at Kent, Wash. at steadily increasing prices, bringing $600 the first time sold, $700 the next and thus increasing by bounds of $100, finally brought a price that would surely have astonished the calf itself, which for all the attention that it commanded, remained modest and not at all spoiled
