Summary
Significance: The Southard Block is a late example of a small town mansard-roofed commercial building with an original bank and counting house room surviving. The first story has a cast iron front of Boston origin. The structure was designed and built by Thomas J. Southard, prominent Richmond shipbuilder and developer.
