Tugwell appears before Senate committee. With the hearing room packed and hundreds unable to gain admittance, Rexford Guy Tugwell, member of President Roosevelt's "brain trust," appeared before the Senate committee on Agriculture and forestry today, to testify on his fitness to be Undersecretary of Agriculture. Tugwell denied he was trying to overthrow the Constitution and said that the Constitution is flexible enough for any changes that may be necessary in America's economic life, 6/11/34
