Summary

Drawings show (recto, 1858 or 1859) a boy and a girl sitting at a table opposite of each other playing checkers or draughts, while a younger girl stands behind the table, facing right, gesturing toward her sister(?), also, faint outlines of a baby sitting on the floor next to the older girl, and a sleeping animal beneath the table; there is a clock hanging on the wall in the background. A preliminary drawing (verso, 1862 or 1863) for a war roll certificate for the Weccacoe Fire Company shows the roll with figures of Liberty in a medallion, with front and back sketches of men as firemen (on the left) and as soldiers (on the right). At the top, figures of Fame, blowing her trumpet, hold the banner of the "Weccacoe Fire Company."
