Summary
Significance: It is located within the Pearl Harbor National Historic Landmark. It is associated with the great expansion of facilities and personnel during WWII. It functioned as a secure fireproof record storage area to the adjacent wooden administration facilities. This type of addition with vault space was common to many of the WWII wooden administration buildings. This building was part of a grouping of important historic buildings that supported Facility 1, the headquarters of the Navy Yard.
