Significance: Facility No. 289 was built in 1947 as an additional utility support structure for Facility No. 78, the Bachelor Officer's Quarters (BOQ). Facility NO. 289 has high integrity and is significant as a functional part of the Bachelor Officers' Quarters. It is a contributing element to the Pearl Harbor Naval Base National Historic Landmark.
