Summary
Significance: The U.S. Naval Base, Pearl Harbor was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1964; due to the crucial role it played in the Nation's defense during the twentieth century and the devastating events which occurred on December 7, 1941. As a Category 1 structure, it is determined that Building No. 708 constitutes a prominent element of the National Historic Landmark and played a major role in the operation of the Pearl Harbor Naval Base.
