U.S. Naval Base, Pearl Harbor, Latrine No. 1, Near Sixth Street, across from Dry Dock No. 1, Pearl City, Honolulu County, HI
Summary
Significance: It is located within the Pearl Harbor National Historic Landmark. It is significant for its association with the establishment of the naval base at Pearl Harbor just before WWI. It was built in 1917 to serve as a toilet facility near the head of Dry Dock No. 1 and has continued in this function since that time. It retains a high degree of integrity and is similar in style to another shipyard latrine, Facility No. 74, which are both reminiscent in style to the work of Hawaiian architect Charles Dickey.
