Summary
Significance: It was part of the expansion of the Navy's air base on Ford Island in the mid-1930s. It is also associated with WWII, since Facility No. 43 was greatly enlarged to accommodate the wartime demands in the early 1940s. It was a storehouse for flammable materials needed at the air base. This building embodies the distinctive characteristics of this type and period of construction. Facility No. 43 is a contributing element to the Pearl Harbor National Historic Landmark.
