Summary
Significance: It was part of a 1980s project to upgrade facilities at the St. Louis VA Medical Center, Jefferson Barracks Division. Laundry No. 3 replaced Laundry No. 2 (Building No. 48) and has served as the hospital's laundry facilities since its completion in 1989. Laundry No. 2 was built in 1952 to replace the original hospital laundry built in 1923, Laundry No. 1 (Building No. 6). Laundry No. 3 continues to serve as the main laundry facility for the medical center.
