Verdadero retrato del Señor del Santuario de Otatitlán

description

Summary

Broadside shows the crucified Christ flanked by the Virgin and St. John. The text on the verso tells of a miracle bestowed on Ricardo Martinez upon his execution for being a non-Catholic and a brutal bandit. His life is spared--the fired bullets do not go farther than the layer of his clothing. He mocks the life-saving miracle and is immediately carried away by a band of devils to hell. There is an additional verse on the verso titled "Ricardo Martinez's lamentations in hell."
