Summary
An illustrated cover for a patriotic song sheet. The iconography of the illustration, like the song, has militaristic overtones. On a large shield in the center of the composition perches an eagle. Rays of light and several flags radiating from behind. Cannonballs, sabers, a drum, bugles, banners, and a soldier's pack and satchel, lies on the ground before it.
