Summary
Significance: Significantly altered so that few original architectural elements remain, this frame building has served as a duplex residence probably since its late 19th century construction. It has been occupied primarily by black laborers (one long time resident; Caroline Bauman, a seamstress) and is in a mixed neighborhood between St. Louis and Walnut Streets, two upper middle class avenues. An undistinguished structure.
