Summary
Significance: The Washington Avenue Bridge is a single-span, steel Pratt through-truss bridge with a wooden deck and walkway. While the Pratt was an extremely common type, the Washington Avenue Bridge is the only example of its specific design in Pettis County. Also, to date no Pratt truss bridge in Missouri has been entered on the National Register of Historic Places.
