Summary

Significance: Waynesborough is a fine example of an 18th century stone house which retains many of its original features. It was the birthplace and home of General Anthony Wayne (1745-96), a brigadier-general of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. The house has been owned continuously by the Wayne family since 1724.
