Wilkins Farm, South side of Dove Hollow Road, 6000 feet east of State Route 259, Lost City, Hardy County, WV
Summary
Significance: The Wilkins Farm is historically and architecturally significant as an intact example of vernacular log dwelling construction, clad in machine milled clapboard, with a distinguished complement of compatible contemporary outbuildings, including one double crib log barn and two single crib log barns. Established as an owner-occupied and managed farm ca. 1820, the property exhibits characteristics consistent with its German-American owners' socio-economic status, the rapidly disappearing vernacular log building types, and its setting.
