William Sattler interview conducted by Clark Douglas Halker, 2011-07-27

William "Bill" Sattler, Iron Workers Union Local 63, discusses his background, early work as an iron worker, his career in the trade, life as union leader, memorable jobs, and also provided photographs of some of these jobs.
The Local IWU 63 headquarters can be a bit noisy and this can be heard in the background. It's an industrial building for the most part, so the cooling and heating system is a regular problem. Occasionally, the building generates a line noise that is impossible to keep off the recording. Sometimes you can also hear people in the office section talking and laughing or somebody will walk into the room. At one point, the interview's phone rings, too. NOTE: All photographs related to this interview belong to Satler. The images are either scans or photographs of his photographs. For that reason, the quality varies.
