Summary

Three cadets in uniform, standing on a wall, calling down to four figures in caps and gowns who are walking towards chapel entrance. Also includes sketch at bottom of sheet: stick figure with goatee and feathered hat; lower half of figure in cadet's trousers lounging with legs crossed at ankles. Drawn while cadet was at West Point on the back of a prospectus for Racine College, January-April 1853 term.

Signed at lower right in pencil with butterfly device.
White wove paper, folded in twelfths; no watermark. Drawing is on the back of a printed prospectus for Racine College, January-April 1853.
On back: black collector's stamp of J & ER Pennell (Lugt Suppl. 874a).
