Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Area B, Building No. 20A, Propeller Test Complex, Seventh Street, from E to G Streets, Dayton, Montgomery County, OH
Summary
Significance: This concrete acoustical structure was built during World War II to surround an outdoor propeller test area and craneway. The unique concrete tube construction was a response to the need to muffle the noise of propeller tests while allowing a free flow of air, and the war-related shortage of many building materials.
