Summary
Summary: Jonas Whitney and Dewey Whitney gave Stafford two promissory notes totaling $170.82, but failed to pay. Stafford retained Logan and Lincoln and sued Whitney and Whitney in an action of assumpsit to recover the debt. Whitney and Whitney failed to appear, and the court ruled for Stafford and awarded $196.22 in damages. The court sold five lots for $222 to satisfy the judgment.
