Zaca Creek Bridge No. 1, Spanning Zaca Creek at Jonata Park Road, Buellton, Santa Barbara County, CA

Significance: Zaca Creek Bridge No. 1 is significant because it is a rare example of a pre-World War I short-span reinforced concrete girder bridge once common in California. Additionally, the important Los Angeles engineering firm of Mayberry & Parker designed the bridge - these engineers fashioned innovative concrete reinforced bridges and structures in various places throughout the western United States. The bridge is part of the original state highway system alignment that established an all-weather route in Santa Barbara County which makes Zaca Creek Bridge No. 1 locally important.
