Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Swedish-American vice president of the SKF roller bearing factory and engineer looking over a blueprint

Conversion. Safety razor plant. Estelle Wilson, one of a New England razor factory's many women workers, checks completed V-blocks with blueprint specification. New York, New York. Industrial training for war work offered to women by New York University under United States government sponsorship. Class in blueprint reading. Many students get jobs even before they finish

Production. A-31 ("Vengeance") dive bombers. Checking part to blueprint. Here a pair of factory workers check the blueprint with a part which will go into the "Vengeance" dive bombers made at Vultee's Nashville Division. The "Vengeance" (A-31) was originally designed for the French. It was later adopted by the RAF (Royal Air Force) and still later by the U.S. Army Air Forces. It is a single-engine, low-wing plane, carrying a crew of two men and having six machine guns of varying calibers

Randomly selected blueprint from vault; Pete McComiskey points out that at Watson original prints are often just updated with CAD-drawn details and overlays. This illustrates both the quality and tradition of machine tool-making at Watson.

Lathe operator Jimmy Dowling checks with fellow lathe operator Jan Sudol about an interpretation of a blueprint.
