Two construction workers who sleep in car, cooking outdoors. One is from Memphis, Tennessee, and worked formerly on the construction of Dupont plant at Millington, Tennessee. The other is from Decatur, Mississippi, and worked previously at the Camp Shelby job, Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He said: "We live like kings out here. I never did carpenter before I heard you could get paid so much for it; then it didn't take me long to be one." They are both working on the Camp Livingston job near Alexandria, Louisiana

Mrs. M.C. Ray from Mangum, Louisiana. Wife of construction worker at Camp Livingston who had been farming but came out here to make more money. The whole family has had flu. When they first arrived they had to sell their cars so they can't get to Alexandria too often to get milk for the children and other supplies. She said that all her grocery bills here were twice as much for the same amount of food as they were in Mangum and eggs were also at least twice as high. Louisiana
