Here's still another of the "scoreboards" suggested by the War Production Board (WPB) for use in plants which are taking part in the war production drive. Squares are interchanged and their changing pattern keeps pace with the factory's progress toward its goal. When that goal is reached, Herr Hitler's loud mouth has been effectively closed. Make it soon!

21st annual convention of U.S. Chamber of Commerce in session. Washington, D.C., June 19. 2,000 delegates assembled in the Mayflower Hotel today for the formal opening of the 21st annual convention of the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce. Caustically condemning the dictatorship of Hitler and Mussolini, Perry Pipkin, Tennessee, president of the gathering, today declared that isolation is a dead issue and that the United States must be inseparably bound to England and France if the 'Atlantic Civilization' is to survive. Pipkin recommended to the delegates that immediate steps be taken to work out a referendum system to reflect an organization opinion of such issues as a national defense. Left to right in the picture - Minor Hudson, President, Washington Junior Board of Trade; Perry Pipkin, President of the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce, and A.Z. Foster Wood, General Chairman

Charges that John L. Lewis 'saw to' the discharge of men to coerce workers. Washington, D.C., Dec. 13. Joe Ozanic, International President of the Progressive Mine Workers of America, testified before the Smith Committee investigating the National Labor Relations Board. He charged that John L. Lewis, as President of the United Mine Workers of America, caused the discharge of five men in the Progressive Union, to 'bring pressure' on other employees to leave the Progressive and join the United. 'The United Mine Workers--and if I've got to use the name of the dictator, John Lewis himself--brought pressure on the employees to force them to sign a petition. They refused. He then saw to it that the coal company discharged five men. The others then did sign the petition resigning from the Progressive Union and pledging loyalty to the United. They did it to save their jobs,' he told the committee
