A modern odyssey ended today with the arrival in Washington of two Venezuelan Boy Scouts, starting January 11, 1935 from Caracas they tramped 25 miles a day for two years thru jungles and swamps to be here in time for the Boy Scout Jamboree, they were met on the steps of the Capitol by the Minister from Venezuela Dr. Don Diogenes Escalante, and Mrs. Juan Lecuna, wife of the Attache of the Legation, Rafael Angel Petit, and Juan Carmona, on the right

Official Boy Scout poster. Dr. James E. West, Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts (left) and Rep. Sol Bloom of New York with the official poster. This poster was painted and donated to the Boy Scout Jamboree by Howard Chandler Christy. It, the poster, will be distributed all over the world for the coming Boy Scout Jamboree which will be held in Washington from June 30th to July 9th with 30,000 Boy Scouts in attendance. Rep. Disease makes ghost town of boy scout camp. Presidential order delaying the Boy Scout Jamboree for a year because of infantile paralysis in Virginia made a ghost town of the city of tents before the camp came properly to life.
