"Gridiron Widows" satirize U.S. Supreme Court. Washington, D.C., Dec. 17. While their husbands attended the annual winter dinner of the Gridiron Club tonight, the wives, all members of the Women's National Press Club and appropriately called 'Gridiron Widows' by Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, were guests of the First Lady at the White House. Mrs. Roosevelt's appointment to the vacancy was a feature of the party. Justice Stone ready to resume duties. Washington D.C. Apparently fully recovered from his recent Illness, Associate Justice Harlan Fiske Stone of the United States Supreme Court returned to Washington yesterday from Sea Island, Georgia, where he had been recuperating. This exclusive picture of the Justice was made as he took an early morning stroll today. Many important decisions, among them the validity of the Labor Relations Act, have been postponed by the Court pending the return of Justice Stone to the bench. Along with Chief Justice Hughes, Justices Brandeis and Cardozo, Justice Stone is noted for his liberalism toward the New Deal
