FCC Commissioner tells Senate Committee time is ripe for investigation telegraph industry. Washington, D.C., May 22. T.A.M. Craven, a member of the Federal Communications Commission, today told a Senate Interstate Commerce Subcommittee that no time should be lost in making a thorough investigation of the telegraph industry. About to leave on a 17,000 mile air tour of nineteen American Republics, the members of the "Flying Caravan" of the Peoples Mandate Committee were bid bon voyage by acting Secretary of the State Sumner Welles at the State Department today. The trip is being made to urge speedy ratification of the peace treaties adopted at the Bunos Aires Conference of 1936. At an extraordinary session called this morning by their president, Mayor Fiorello La Guardia, the Executive Committee of the U.S. Conference of Mayors surveyed the entire strike of WPA employees throughout the country.
