Appointed tub thumper for Uncle Sam. Washington, D.C., Sept. 6. Ben M. Cherrington, of the University of Denver, has just been named Chief of a new division in the State Department just established by Secretary Hull, and which will be known as the "Division of Cultural Relations." The new division, long anticipated, has been characterized as a step by the U.S. Government to disseminate American propaganda abroad in the same manner that numerous European governments now are disseminating their respective propaganda throughout the world by radio broadcasts, national literature, posters, and lecturers traveling abroad, 9/6/38
