These were all the young children I could get at the Athens Hosiery Mill at noon. And at 9 A.M., although when I went through the mill at 7 A.M., alone, Dec. 9th, I saw six little girls industriously at work. Standing on boxes so they could reach and helping their mothers and sisters; they appeared to be about 5 and 7 years old (See report.) Where they disappeared, I never found out.
