Gordon Bennett International Balloon Trophy goes to U.S. Army Air Corps. The Gordon Bennett International Balloon Trophy, property of the National Aeronautic Association by virtue of three victories by American Balloonists, was today presented to Assistant Secretary of War for Aviation F. Trubee Davison for the Army Air Corps for a year by Orville Wright, secretary of the Contest Committee of the Association An Army pilot, Captain W.G. Kemper, secured the trophy for America by winning the race from Detroit last year. In the photograph, left to right: Ray Cooper, of the National Aeronautic Association, who brought the trophy to Washington by airplane from Michigan; Brig.
