Representatives of the Washington branch of the American League for Peace and Democracy took up signs today and picketed the Italian Embassy. Ready to go is the huge 15 x 30 foot Arsenal of Democracy montage deseigned by Jean Carlu, eminent poster artist, for exhibition at the National and Civilian Defense Exposition in New York and in many other cities throughout the country. The panel is divided into 2 1/2 foot squares. The artist seems pleased with his work, which is only the second time this particular montage technique has been used. Behind him are figures from the Four Freedoms panel, which equal in size to the Arsenal of Democracy. Both panels were prepared for the Office of Emergency Management (OEM)

Along with other workers in this Eastern plant, they have turned their skill to the vital needs of the day, and in many cases have seen to it that the machinery they used to use does Uncle Sam's most important work today. Four Freedoms and Arsenal of Democracy posters. Assembly workers have nearly finished setting up the huge 15 x 30 foot photomontage The Four Freedoms. On the other side of the scaffolding was the Arsenal of Democracy panel, equal in size. The two were displayed in Defense Square, Washington for a month beginning November 7, 1941. Designed for the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) by the eminent poster artist Jean Carlu, they were shown first in New York and after the Washington showing went on a tour of many cities throughout the nation
