Visitors' buildings. The visitors' reception building at the north end of Chickamauga Dam performs the same functions as described for the one at Pickwick. Its overlook terrace is partly covered by a canopy roof and projects toward the chamber of the navigation lock for a more favorable view of the locking operation, which is of great interest to visitors. Visitors' overlook building at Kentucky Dam. This structure is in the form of an open shed because the other functions of TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) visitors' buildings being accommodated in the nearby construction village, there was need  for shelter only at this point. Since the project is in a hot climate, ample ventilation is promoted by the open front, a balustrade height opening toward the back underneath the display and grilles to ventilate the roof space. Most of the displays are arranged as transparencies, with natural illumination during the day, and with floodlights used as substitutes during the night

Navy band develops first symphony orchestra. This photograph shows a portion of the U.S. Navy Band's 95-piece symphony orchestra for the first time. This orchestra, under the leadership of Lt. Charles Bentor, will give its first concert at the Navy Yard Sail Loft Tuesday night (11/26/35). The Navy Band has had a small orchestra in the past which played at various functions such as White House receptions and other official social gatherings. The new and larger orchestra will give a popular music concert later in the month. 11/25/35
