The gold piano which has occupied its place in the east room of the White House for years is to be replaced with a new one. It is the gift of Theodore Steinway. The old one will be placed in the National Museum. Mr. Steinway's gift, which was played by Josef Hofmann at the acceptance ceremony, is of maple, decorated in gold, with legs in the shape of eagles, 12/10/38

Mr. Eddy was born in Saint Just, near Carn, Cornwall, England. He came to the U.S. in 1900 and has been back and forth to Cornwall several times. He has trained dogs many years and at one time owned a kennel of thirty dogs and also operated a race track near Butte. Old degenerating structure that later apparently served some artistic purpose in Atlantic City; not the famous New Jersey resort for sure, but close to a ghost town in remote Fremont County, Wyoming. The town is a small mining settlement in a gulch near South Pass, the famous route through the Rockies for Oregon and Mormon Trail emigrants. It was founded as a mining camp following the 1867 gold rush in the region. The town declined following the end of the placer gold rush in the early 1870s, but continued to exist as advances in mining technology allowed further extraction of gold
