Navy gets original commission of John Paul Jones. Washington, D.C., March 12. The orginal commission of John Paul Jones, as captian in the United States Navy, dated October 10, 1776, and issued under authority of the Continental Congress with signature of John Hancock as its president was presented to the Secretary of Navy Charles Edison today. Capt. H.A. Baldridge, U.S.N. retired, curator of the U.S. Naval Academy Museum, presented the valuable document to the secretary on behalf of the owner, John L. Senior of Glen Acres, Roxbury, Conn. who was not able to be present. The commission will be placed in the crypt of the Revolutionary War hero at the Naval Academy. Left to right: Admiral H.R.
