Paul Revere Sentinels appear at Senate Neutrality Hearing. Washington, D.C., May 2. A bit of color was injected today into an otherwise drab session of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations which is conducting hearings on neutrality, when a group of people, known as the Paul Revere Sentinels, appeared to state its views. A spokesman for the committee accused the press of withholding truths about the present international situation and the forces back of it, and warned the committee against allowing itself to become the mouthpiece of the Capitol. The group is opposed to allowing its children to become cannon fodder in another World War. From New York, this group of women are, left to right: Mrs. Lily Reed, Miss Josephine Keane, Mrs. Helen McAllister, Mrs. Marie Hubert, and Miss S.E. McGrath. Mrs. Reed and Mrs. McAllister are both mothers of sons.

President calls conference of Senate and State Department on neutrality. Washington, D.C., July 18. It was almost midnight tonight when Senators began emerging from the White House after their conference with President Roosevelt and Secretary of State Hull at which an agreement was reached to allow neutrality legislation to lie dormant until next session, thus, apparently ending a flare-up between congress and the president on the neutrality issue which began when the Senate Foreign Relations Committee refused to take up the question this session. Left to right: Senator Charles L. McNary, Minority leader; Sen. Warren Austin of Vermont; Sen. Key Pittman, Chairman of the Foregin Relations Committee; Sen. William E. President and Hull urge Congress to reconsider action on neutrality legislation. Washington, D.C., July 14. A photographic copy of the message sent to the House and Senate this afternoon by President Roosevelt and State Secretary Cordell Hull. The 11 page statement urged members of the House and Senate to reconsider its action on the neutrality legislation. Hull's 6-point program for keeping the U.S. out of war was reiterated, to which Sen. Nye remarked, 'It's the curtain drop. The message presented no new arguments, and repetition of old arguments invites old answers.' Majority leader Alben Barkley said the message 'is in harmony with our traditional policy and ought to receive the overwhelming approval of the country'
