Winifred was admitted in November, 1942, a very serious case, stricken with infantile paralysis in both legs, spine and abdomen. She can now walk and use her arms freely. She is almost completely recovered, and will be discharged in a few weeks

Disease makes ghost town of boy scout camp. Presidential order delaying the Boy Scout Jamboree for a year because of infantile paralysis in Virginia made a ghost town of the city of tents before the camp came properly to life.
