The digger is a four foot long blade which is drawn through the ground under the plants, cutting the roots loose and uprooting the plants. Guayule plantings will produce an estimated 600 tons of rubber in early 1943, provide a crop in 1944 which should yield 33,000 tons and a harvest in 1945 to yield 47,000 tons. An annual production of 70,000 tons to 80,000 tons will materialize if full capacity of nurseries now being built is utilized.
