The cloister opens its doors. Many of the American Red Cross distributing stations in Roumania were located in monasteries, churches and schools. This shows the scene on the grounds of the 17th century Monastery near Bucharest during the distribution of American food and clothing. Queen Marie is in personal attendance and took an active part in the Red Cross relief work in her country. Note the mild eyed look of wonder on the faces of the two nuns in the right foreground over the invasion of their usually quiet gardens by such a large crowd
