Still friends after House battle of neutrality. Washington, D.C., July 1. After the House went through one of the administration's severest setbacks last night on the neutrality measure, principals involved remain good friends. Rep. Robert Allen of Pennsylvania, Sol Bloom of New York, and Republican John Vorys of Ohio, met after the Bloom Bill went through with amendments which constituted a setback to the administration's Neutrality Bill proposed by Bloom, and agreed that it was a great fight with no grudges. Rep. Vorys led the republican fight that changed the bill and Rep. Allen was a strong supporter of the Bloom Bill

Wagner of New York, author of the Wagner Labor Relations Act, and Senator David I. Walsh, (right) of Massachusetts, who sponsored the bill in the United States Senate. They were together as they heard the Supreme Court uphold the validity of the act today--unanimously in the cases of the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp., and the Washington, Virginia and Maryland Coach Co. Screen star thrills senate ladies. Washington, D.C., April 4. Robert Montgomery, screen star, unexpectedly dropped into the Senate Ladies luncheon at the Capitol today where he was given a royal welcome by the congressional wives. The picture might indicate it was a publicity stunt for Florida as Mrs. Claude Pepper and Mrs. Charles O. Andrews, right wives of the democratic senators from Florida, proffer the star a grapefruit from the Sunshine State. On the left are, Mrs. William E. Borah and Senator Hattie W. Caraway of Arkansas. 4-4-39
