Mr. John Oiveira, a dairy farmer near San Leandro, California. His parents were born in Portugal but he and his son, Mr. A.J. Oliveira, who is cashier of First National Bank of San Leandro, were born in the United States. My wife and I have had a good life in the U.S. and we are proud to see our son an honored man of the community. All of us, we are as American as fried chicken now."
