Mrs. Emma Guffey Miller, Democratic National Committeewoman from Pennsylvania and a sister of Senator Joseph Guffey, urged approval of the Burke Constitutional Amendment for Equal Rights for Women as she testified before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee today. President Roosevelt to get unique invitation for 50th Anniversary Johnstown Flood. Washington, D.C., June 30. Senator Joseph Guffey, (D. Pennsylvania) today received from the Johnstown, Pennsylvania "quintuplets" a unique invitation which he was asked to present to President Roosevelt requesting his attendance at the 50th anniversary of the Johnstown Flood of 1889. The girls represented the sponsors of a golden jubilee of the flood which will open National Flood Control Week, May 31, 1939.
