A poster comes to life. "This reminds me of home" said Sergeant Vineyard as he downed another piece of Mrs. Woolslayer's devil's food cake. When refreshments were brought out, the welder and the Army Sergeant forgot all about the war and fighting and production, and embarked on a gossip session the likes of which you'll find in Iowa, Kentucky, Oregon or Vermont. As American as baseball, the Sunday afternoon visit is a friendly and democratic means of relaxation common to soldier, worker, bank president and school child alike. Proudly seated next to the Sergeant is eight-year-old Georgia Ann Woolslayer

Dotheboys Hall in session tucked away upstairs over the store. Equipped with antique, dilapidated benches and chairs. The lessons begin at 6 A.M. and last for six hours, and these children who attend in the morning go into the mill in the afternoon and vice versa for the required eight weeks, which the law specifies. Taking everything into consideration it shows what travesty vocational guidance may become, and is in itself the best example of Dotheboys Hall I have ever seen, except that it is not half so practical as was Squeer's school. See Hine report. Location: Huntsville, Alabama.
