Group showing most of the youngsters working in the Cowpen's Manufacturing Co., S.C. They are all regular workers including shorty the smallest one. The boy next to him was dragged out of the photograph against his will soon after by an anxious parent. Superintendent was very suspicious and accused me of being the one who made so much trouble for the mill people several years ago. He finally permitted some outside photographs only saying, "We have certificates for all these children."  Location: [Cowpens], South Carolina.
