Wagner of New York, author of the Wagner Labor Relations Act, and Senator David I. Walsh, (right) of Massachusetts, who sponsored the bill in the United States Senate. They were together as they heard the Supreme Court uphold the validity of the act today--unanimously in the cases of the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp., and the Washington, Virginia and Maryland Coach Co. The decision was hailed by the government as one of its greatest victories in court.
