Zebulon, North Carolina. Feggen Jones lives with fourteen children on an eighty-six acre farm purchased through the FSA (Farm Security Administration). He has two cows, three mules, four hogs, two hundred chickens, two dogs and a cat. He owns a Ford truck and an Oldsmobile sedan. His cash crop is seven acres of tobacco. He also grows five acres of cotton, seven acres of wheat, twelve acres of corn and two acres of vegetable garden. Electricity is supplied by the REA (Rural Electrification Administration). Jones was formerly a sharecropper in this area

Cotton outside of Lassiter gin in Wendell, Wake County North Carolina. This gin which is operated by Mr. Faison has ginned only two hundred and fifty bales of cotton this whole season and doesn't expect much more. The boll weevil got most of the cotton in that season. Because of the tobacco market holiday, all the picking and ginning of cotton was finished very early this year

Interior of Whitley general store. A Negro who is president of an industrial school is trying to get a donation for its support from Mr. R.B. Whitley. He is president of the bank, owner of very large store, practically owns and runs the town. He is a big landowner, owns Whitley-Davis farm and a cotton mill in Clayton. He said he cut down the trees and pulled up the stumps out of the main street and was the first man in that town of Wendell. Wake County, North Carolina
