Members of the A.R.C. Commission to Poland were photographed in front of their Warsaw headquarters before breaking up into units to attach the typhus epidemic. They went into the cities, towns and villages in the immense territory east of the River Bug where the people were hit hardest by the ravages of war. Many of them went to Brest Litowski where the Germans force the Russians to sign the document known to the world as the treaty of Brest-Litowski. Others scattered up closer to the fighting fronts in places like Pinsk, Kowel and Rawaruska
