Significance: The home of Major David Dickinson, a man of prominence in this area in post-Revolutionary times. / Built about 1790 for Major David Dickinson, this house is a rare example of its period in Deerfield. The plan is a regional type on a scale adapted to a prosperous family. Rear portion altered, probably in the 1830's, and again in recent times. - Now owned and occupied by The Belmont School.
