Summary
Significance: If sections of the masonry construction date form the first Spanish Period in St. Augustine and the Horruytiner "attribution" is therefore correct, the house can be associated with a family prominent in the early presidio of St. Augustine. Luis Horruytiner was governor of Spanish Florida (1633-38), and an earlier Pedro Benedit Horruytiner was governor ad interim, 1652-54.
