Long, long ago, by Clara Clough Lenroot
Summary
This is a short, anecdotal reminiscence of a mid-nineteenth century Wisconsin girlhood, written over fifty years later. Clara Clough Lenroot grew up in the country, as well as the towns of Hudson, Osceola Mills, and Superior. She describes her personal experiences and local folkways of her youth, including home remedies, songs, and food traditions, and mingles her narrative with lengthy quotations in verse.
